Where is Zambezi National Park?

Zambezi National Park is in north-western Zimbabwe. It starts about 5 km upstream of Victoria Falls town and stretches roughly 40 km along the south bank of the Zambezi River towards Kazungula and the Botswana border.

What you'll see

The park has two loops: a riverine drive through mahogany and acacia along the Zambezi, and an inland route through teak woodland and open vleis. Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, kudu, waterbuck and warthog are regular, and the park is known for sable antelope. Lion and leopard are present but seen less often. River lodges along the Zambezi also offer walks and fishing.

What to see and do

Best time to visit Zambezi National Park

The dry season, July to October, brings wildlife to the river and thins the bush for easier sightings. The green season (December to March) is lush and full of birdlife.
