Hwange is Zimbabwe’s largest national park, around 14,600 km² of teak forest, grassland and pans. It’s famous for its huge elephant population and healthy predators. It lies just a couple of hours’ drive from Victoria Falls, which makes this one of the most rewarding Zimbabwe safari combinations.

You begin with two nights at the Falls, then head south into Hwange for three nights at a safari camp, with morning and afternoon game drives around the waterholes where elephant, buffalo, lion and, with luck, painted wolves gather.
