Overview

Zambezi National Park begins just upstream of Victoria Falls town and runs along the river for around 40 km. It’s the easiest way to go on safari without leaving Zimbabwe. There’s a riverine drive through mahogany and acacia along the Zambezi, and an inland route through teak woodland and open vleis.

Elephant, buffalo, giraffe, kudu, sable, waterbuck and warthog are regularly seen, with lion and leopard present for the lucky. Morning drives catch the cool, active hours. Afternoon drives end with golden light on the river.

Prices are in US$ per person and include VAT. The park, conservation or activity levy is paid separately. Rates are valid until December 2026 and all activities are subject to availability.

Frequently asked questions

Mornings are cooler and animals are more active. Afternoons offer beautiful light and can be combined with a sundowner. Both are good.

Chobe has far higher densities of animals, especially elephants. Zambezi National Park is quieter, closer and a great short safari if you’re short on time.
