From the ground you can only see Victoria Falls in pieces. From a helicopter you see the whole curtain of water, nearly 1.7 km wide, the column of spray, and the zig-zag gorges cutting away to the east. It’s the view that makes sense of everything.
The 12–13 minute flight circles the Falls several times. The 25 minute flight adds the gorges and a low run over the Zambezi and Zambezi National Park, where you may spot elephant, hippo and buffalo from the air.

The 12–13 minute flight gives you the classic Falls views. Choose 25 minutes if you want the gorges and a good chance of seeing wildlife along the river from the air.
Morning and late-afternoon light is the most flattering. In peak flood (around March to May) the spray is enormous and looks spectacular from above.
A government levy applies per passenger. It’s $29 for the short flight and $35 for the 25-minute flight.
